[edit] General

  • Peace, Propaganda & The Promised Land - Provides a striking comparison of U.S. and international media coverage of the crisis in the Middle East, zeroing in on how structural distortions in U.S. coverage have reinforced false perceptions of the Israeli-Palestinian conflict. IMDB listing here.
  • The Corporation - Explores the nature and spectacular rise of the dominant institution of our time. Footage from pop culture, advertising, TV news, and corporate propaganda, illuminates the corporation's grip on our lives. Taking its legal status as a "person" to its logical conclusion, the film puts the corporation on the psychiatrist's couch to ask "What kind of person is it?" Provoking, witty, sweepingly informative, The Corporation includes forty interviews with corporate insiders and critics - including Milton Friedman, Noam Chomsky, Naomi Klein, and Michael Moore - plus true confessions, case studies and strategies for change. IMDB listing here.

[edit] Hacking

  • Hacker "trip tape" video from 1991 - After some old hacker analog tapes were submitted to BoingBoing a guy decides to add his own early 90's hacker related media, a 'trip tape' played at some hacker themed parties in Ohio. Pretty trippy. Very cool. Found via BoingBoing. Extra points for having the Art of Noise on it.
